René Ransdorp translated the Qiwulun (Treatise on the Equalization of Things) into Dutch making use thereby of philological studies by contemporary Chinese Zhuangzi specialists.In the Introduction the author clarifies his position with regard to questions about authorship, authenticity, dating and classification of theZhuangzi chapters.In the first part of the dissertation a large number of Chinese commentaries on the Qiwulun are presented. This is done in such a way that the core ideas of the Qiwulun are clarified from variousnbsp;angles.In the introductory chapter of the second part the nucleus of Zhuang Zi’s thought is described as being a continuous plea for an optimal receptiveness with regard to all beings (“the ten thousand things”).
