This research focuses on a text genre that has received very little attention in the study of Middle Dutch literature: the spiritual guide for nuns. The central object of investigation is Hore dochter, a fourteenth-century translation of the Instructio pie vivendi et superna meditandi. In addition similar texts (a.o.
