Stiffness tailored nondegradable and degradable fracture fixation plates for midshaft clavicle fractures

Generic fracture fixation plates are not optimal for the bone healing process. Patient and location specific circumstances can be taken into account to optimize the stiffness of the implant. The fracture fixation plates can be either bioinert or biodegradable. The stiffness of a biodegradable implant, and more specifically the change in stiffness over time, can be optimized in a similar way to support the bone healing process.
