Faculty

Main organisation:Ghent University
Lifecycle:1 Jan 1970 →  Today
Organisation profile:In the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, students are trained to become medicines experts in healthcare and industry. The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences has long been able to boast a strong research culture and translates this each year into a strong research output, which manifests itself among other things in a high doctoral productivity. Because of the heterogeneity of the scientific disciplines that make up pharmaceutical-oriented research, the emphasis in the research is on the different research groups. In these research groups, the thread 'Pharmaceutical sciences' is a container for research ranging from pharmaceutical care and pharmaceutical technology, to fundamental biomedical research (for example cancer, microorganisms, nutrition, ...) to photonics. The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences makes use of this excellent scientific research as a breeding ground for its education; In addition, the faculty aims to translate the obtained research results into the highest possible societal impact (among other things in the field of healthcare policy) and economic knowledge transfer (among other things through extensive collaborations with industrial partners).
