Project

Computer-assisted modeling of aerodynamics and air resistance in cycling.

This project aims to develop an integrated approach to specifically evaluate endurance, strength and aerodynamics in elite cyclists. Primary focus of the project is the development of a new isokinetic bicycle to specifically evaluate the cadence: maximal power relationship, as well as the pedaling technique of the cyclist on his personal race bicycle. Furthermore, we develop a novel method to measure air resistance of a cyclist using computer simulation of aerodynamics.
