Project

Metamaterials for vibro−acoustic attenuation

The proposed IRF Leverage project targets the development of an innovative noise control concept, which complies with the challenging and apparently conflicting requirements of good noise and vibration behaviour, and low mass and compact volume. The concept is based on the concept of so-called metamaterials. The proposed IRF Leverage project aims at turning the concept into an engineering solution with robust performance, low-cost manufacturability, and obtained from a low-threshold engineering design process, in order to strengthen its valorisation potential.
