Fast and reliable metagenomic analysis

Complex mixtures of small organisms, or microbiomes, have a vast impact on human health, in e.g. the gut or the human skin. However, characterization and manipulation of these mixtures remains though, with full assessment of the species present being a daunting and error prone task, and development of therapeutic and diagnostic applications is slow due to these technical difficulties. Within this project, we propose construction of the metareader, a protype device for fast, accurate and reliable metagenomic analysis, as well as full benchmarking o f said device versus the state of the art.
