Evaluation embellishing speed cameras (R-9239)

The goal of this evaluation study is to compare the driving and viewing behavior of the road users toward stickered speed cameras in a simulated road environment with the driving and viewing behavior toward to non-stickered cameras. The following research questions are addressed: 1. Will the stickered cameras lead to a less abrupt reaction at the camera, as shown in the simulated driving parameters (eg speed / acceleration, braking behavior, lateral position)? 2. Will the stickered cameras better attract the attention, as shown in the viewing parameters (number of fixations, average fixation time at a time, total viewing time to the speed camera)? 3. Can the stickered cameras have a positive effect on road safety?
