Customs officers or smugglers? the mediating role of intercultural actors within Belgium and between Belgium and France (1850-1930).

The purpose of this project is to conduct interdisciplinary (literary-sociological, discursive-translational and historical-cultural) research into the strategic transfer roles played by a representative selection of some 20 belgian intercultural actors during the successive phases of cultural nation building and international spread of Belgian culture (1850 and 1920).
