He has obtained a PhD in Environmental Chemistry at the Ehime University (Japan) in 2011. Since then, he has been involved at the Toxicological Centre in several activities related to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), biomonitoring, bioaccumulation and metabolism in humans and animal species. He is currently involved in the Flemish Environment and Health Biomonitoring program, HBM4EU project (European Human Biomonitoring Initiative), INTERWASTE RISE project, MeDIPlasticS project triboREMEDY project and INCH4U project, investigating a range of endocrine disruptors, including phthalates, bisphenol-A, phosphate- and brominated-flame retardants. He has published a number of 59 articles, 5 book chapters and H-index:20. (https://www.uantwerpen.be/en/staff/malarvannan-govindan/publications/.
