IOF mandate Institute for Materials Research (IMO-IMOMEC) 2019-2023 (R-9956)

Focus for the 1st representative is placed on projects with government support, which also form a basis for further collaborations with companies further down the value chain, such as ICON and R&D projects. Additional attention is put on the creation of new spin-offs and the number of active license files within the entity. Furthermore, the mandatary remains committed to active participation within the spearhead clusters (SIM, Catalisti, FLUX50, ...) in order to obtain greater involvement in project applications in collaboration with industry. The 2nd representative focuses on supporting research for third parties ('the services'). It is expected that realizations of assignments and/or long-term collaborations within a framework agreement or R&D projects will continue to increase in the coming period. In the coming period, the mandatary will focus on agreements that, on the one hand, are in line with the entity's research domains and, on the other hand, can result in an extended service agreement. In addition to expanding the customer portfolio and investing in sustainable relationships with companies, the representative also focuses on a better PR operation (renewed website & social media, presence at fairs & events and general templates). The IOF staff have a monthly meeting with the DC during which their activities are reported and discussed.
