Koen Panis

  • Research Expertise:My research interests and expertise are situated in the broad field of media culture (among others when it comes to media and ownership structures), with a specific focus on celebrity studies and television studies. Within the field of celebrity studies, I mostly focus on the interplay between celebrity culture and socio-political activism. Within the field of television studies, I focus more specifically on the representation of minority groups (in public service broadcasting), but I am equally interested in changing viewing patterns in an age of convergence and internationalisation (e.g. the platform economy, binge-watching, transnational television formats, etc.)
