Best practices of giftedness in schools (R-5514)

The rapid dissemination of the practical knowledge about intellectual giftedness within schools is one of the most important objectives of this project. Not only recognizing (intellectual) gifted children is important, but also how one can practically guide the (intellectual) gifted child in his/her everyday development. In addition, based on impact measurement before, during and after the startup of the training of both (i) teachers, managements, care coordinators and parents (= environment of the child) and (ii) the (intellectual) gifted students themselves extremely valuable data can be mapped on the effects of differentiation upwards for the first time in Flanders. We also aim to develop a practical tool with this research that teachers can use to measure the attitude of (intellectual) gifted children on a qualitative manner. We want to provide this tool to the society, provided a training is followed at Exentra-CBO for correct use of the measuring instrument (= quality control). Such an instrument is not yet available for this specific targetgroup of students at this time.
