Synthesis of two-dimensional covalent organic frameworks at surfaces

The “graphene rush” has triggered a great interest in the design and fabrication of synthetic two-dimensional materials (S2DMs) excelling in their chemical and physical properties for future emerging technologies. These S2DMs include self-assembled molecular networks (SAMNs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs). The project focuses on the synthesis of such S2DMs including self-assembled molecular networks (SAMNs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs), and to characterize them with state-of-the-art spectroscopy and microscopy tools, including scanning probe microscopy.
