Thermal-fluid optimization of heat sinks including manufacturability constraints

Within this research, topology optimization methodologies for single-phase fluid heat sinks will be examined. Optimal designs aim at extracting as much heat power as possible, under the constraint of maximal absolute pressures, preventing leakage. The problem will first be explored in a two-dimensional setting, aiming for manufacturable designs, while also exploiting state-of-the-art techniques to accelerate the optimization procedure. Ultimately, the goal is to be able to extend that to a three-dimensional framework, including constraints that guarantee the structural integrity of the optimal design.
