Ansymo/Cosys

Research Group

Main organisation:DESIGN & OPTIMISATION
Lifecycle:9 May 2014 →  Today
Organisation profile:

The Flanders Make AnSyMo/CoSys core lab has three researchpriorities:

1.    Design andTesting for Cyber-Physical Systems: ensure that autonomously operating machines adhere to the appropriatesafety standards, focused on methods and tools for a cost-effective designprocess (profs. De Meulenaere, Denil, De Meyer, Vangheluwe)

2.    Adaptive,Optimal Embedded Control: boost controlefficiency by integrating the use of available system models into the controldesign process (and sometimes) resulting controllers; (profs. Denil, Steckel,De Meulenaere)

3.    Industrialsensing, signal processing and actuation; monitor moving machines to enable autonomous navigation (prof. Steckel)

There are a lot of touchpoints between thepriorities 1 and 2, and priorities 2 and 3.

Expertise in Design and Testing includes thedevelopment of methods and tools for:

·        Modelling andSimulation

·        EmbeddedSystems Design

·        Software andembedded systems testing

·        Co-simulation

Expertise in Adaptive, Optimal Embedded Controlincludes the development of methods and  tools for

·        Long termautonomy

·        Run-timeadaptivity

·        Embeddedcontrol architectures

·        Embeddedplatform (co-)simulation

·        Model-lessautonomous vehicle control, in driving and flying vehicles

Expertise in industrial sensing and signalprocessing includes
