Organisation

ROB

Main organisation:FLEXIBLE ASSEMBLY
Organisation profile:

The Flanders MakeROB core lab focuses on research regarding service robots (behaviour-based mobilemanipulation, shared control, learning control), medical robotics (naturalinterfaces, haptic bilateral control), industrial robot assistants, and activesensing.

Our activities cover both mechatronics 1.0(fast, accurate) and mechatronics 2.0 (sensor-intensive, robust, possiblyhuman-robot interactive):

·        Robustoptimisation and control for high-performance machines, robots and vehicles;

·        Cognitivemachines, “cyber-physical systems”, systems-of-systems and man-machineinteraction;

·        Real-timeand embedded software and control for machines, robots and vehicles.

Furthermore, wehave a track record of successfulopen source software projects, such as Orocos, KDL and eTaSL.
