Project

Investigating the interplay between Cerebral Cavernous Malformations, mechanosensitive ion channels and flow-induced shear stress.

Traction Force Microscopy, used to recover cell traction forces, is used to investigate the synergy between CCM genes, flow-induced shear stress and the mechanosensitive ion channels Piezo1, Piezo2, TRPV2 and TRPV4. Experimental in-vitro assays need to be optimized. The behavior and the appearance of the endothelial cells is observed in 2D and 3D, in non-flow and flow conditions.
