Lipometrix – towards an integrated lipidomics platform. (Lipometrix)

Lipometrix is a recently established KU Leuven Core Facility specializing in lipidomics. This emerging analytical discipline relies on mass spectrometry for the measurement of thousands of lipid species from diverse samples, including cell culture, blood and tissue. As such, the development of techniques for sample preparation, automation, measurement protocols, and complex data analysis and interpretation are core areas of research. This work will focus on these aspects, with the aim to further develop beyondstateof-the-art techniques to enable fundamental and translational lipidomics-based research for the scientific community. In addition, quality management routines will be implemented to ensure accountability and provision of high-quality analytical services.
