Reliability of semiconductor lasers / LEDs integrated on an optical chip or in a miniaturized optical system.

UGent does groundbreaking research on the integration of semiconductor lasers/LEDs on photonic integrated circuits and in miniaturized optical systems, for communication, sensing and display applications. While we perform worldclass research in this field, the aspect of the reliability of these laser diodes/LEDs remains to be assessed. In this project we want to study this in detail using specific measurement equipment.
