Project

Polymer additives from lignin building blocks (PADDLE) (PADDL)

The aim of this project is to take the first R&D steps in the development of new plasticisers, flame retardants and radical scavengers (UV stabilizers and / or antioxidants) derived from lignin with comparable (or ideally better) application properties and an improved toxicity profile in compared to the state-of-the-art petrochemical compounds. In addition, the project aims to develop polymer additives, which can be used in low doses and which can be easily separated from polymers during recycling. After all, the recycling of polymers is an important part of the circular economy.
