Vital maintenance and optimization of the workflow and infrastructure of the Sagalassos Archaeological Research Project

The promotor of the application represents the Sagalassos Project as a whole and the requested infrastructure will service the functioning of all aspects of the project, in Turkey as well as at KU Leuven.During the last years, the workflow facilitating the international and interdisciplinary research agenda of the Sagalassos Project has become digitized step by step. From registration and documentation during fieldwork of all participating disciplines, to the subsequent integration, analysis, dissemination, and archiving of a wide variety of datasets. For instance, with the support of previous infrastructure investment projects, the Sagalassos Integrated Information System (SIIS) was developed to capture and manage data. These prior funds allowed for a gradual transition to a digitized workflow by providing the means to acquire the necessary hard- and software. To guarantee the functioning of the by now vital digitized workflow for the upcoming decade, a range of replacements (hardware), renewals (software) and additions concerning the supporting infrastructure is required.
