Project
Trustworthy sAfety & seCurity cOntrol for cyber-physical Systems (TACOS)
The TACOS project aims to facilitate the transition to online and secure reconfiguration of CPS (Cyber-Physical System) -
controllers by defining generic, reusable security middleware that will control the configuration and
enables maintenance of Trusted Execution Environments (TEE). To achieve this, TACOS will focus on three
innovation goals:
• The definition and validation of generic, cross-platform interfaces, services and tools for configuring a TEE
and to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of the components implemented therein. (state-of-the-art:
platform-specific configuration, limited / no reusable services and tools)
• The enforcement of time guarantees for the implementation of in-TEE components that have critical availability
monitor and control components. (note: TEE support for software availability is missing)
• Compliance analysis and model-based mapping between TACOS middleware and security legislation and standards, to
facilitate security certification and identify gaps, inconsistencies and ambiguities. (sota: lack
coherent mapping between software assets and security legislation / standards)
