Project

Possibilities and challenges when using the bodycam by the integrated police.

This project concerns an investigation into the possibilities and challenges of the
use of body-worn cameras ("body cams") by local police areas and entities in the
Federal Police. The research aims to gain insight into attitudes, perceptions
and expectations assumed by the actors (decision-making authorities,
field officers, police officers, civilians) involved in the use of
bodycams. Based on those insights and against the background of relevant criteria (e.g.
legitimacy, privacy, effectiveness and efficiency) recommendations will be formulated
about the use of bodycams, about the training of police officers in their use
and on the legislation on camera use by the police forces.
