Sub-Grant agreement Model between EMC and Hasselt University in the framework of the EHDEN consortium (R-11773)

The University MS Center (UHasselt and Noorderhart) has successfully applied, with UHasselt as lead, to become a member of the EHDEN consortium. EHDEN stands for European Health Data & Evidence Network and the ultimate goal of EHDEN is to build a federated data network in Europe. This federated network will make it possible to speed up the process of exchanging health data in order to reach crucial insights. In a federated network, different data sources are connected to each other, but no patient-level data is exchanged to obtain insights (=privacy-by-design). For this, it is essential that the datasets in the federated network are harmonized according to a common data model (CDM = a uniform "language" (=structure and format)), and within EHDEN the "OMOP" CDM is used (more information via odsi.org). In accordance to our application, we will locally transform the MS DataConnect dataset (which already exists) from its current format and structure to the OMOP CDM in order to be part of the federated network. The harmonization will be done in collaboration with edenceHealth, an EHDEN certified SME.
