Citizen Dialogue Kit: Wireless Interactive Public Displays

Citizen Dialog Kit (CDK) is a platform for interactive and wireless public displays developed by RxD. Its successful use in case studies around public communication and opinion polling have led to a strong market pull. However, these studies reveal three key inhibitors for commercial exploitation: 1) an effective consultation workflow that tackles the content design and data interpretation challenges faced by client; 2) a flexible middleware to configure responsive polling scenarios; and 3) a low-power and energy harvesting technology that facilitates this high level of interactivity without onsite maintenance. To overcome these inhibitors, RxD joins forces with DistriNet to develop and evaluate the necessary technology in real-world use cases, and with Mediated Environments (LUCA) to unlock CDK’s unique interactive experience. This project will ensure CDK’s commercial differentiation and its potential for other application domains such as customer engagement actions, employee satisfaction surveying, or digital signage.
