IOF Proof of Concept: Development, realization and application of a prototype fluorescence lifetime camera system for Fluorescence-Guided Surgery (FGS). (IOFPOC36)

Based on the VUB patented CAPS fast-gated camera technology, a proof-of-concept fluorescence-lifetime imaging system for fluorescence-guided surgery (FGS) will be built. This involves both the technical development of the system and investigation into the regulatory aspects to bring such prototype system into the operating theatre. This will be the first FGS system offering fluorescence-lifetime imaging capabilities and it is anticipated that this will enable a wealth of new applications in FGS.
