A single cell and multiplex approach towards drought tolerant maize varieties

Maize yield is greatly impacted by drought but despite decades of research, few drought tolerant varieties are on the market, urging for new approaches. In this project, we will examine the cell type specific drought responses using single cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics to specifically modulate the key nodes of the network using multiplex genome editing to achieve drought tolerance.
