LEMMA - The role of Language in early MatheMatical Achievement

Recent research has shown that mathematical abilities are not only associated with general vocabulary knowledge, but also with specific vocabulary knowledge about the relevant mathematical domain. In this research project, we want to investigate the relation between general and domain specific language abilities on the one hand and mathematical abilities on the other hand. We do this at a moment where we can expect large interindividual differences, i.e. during the first years of primary school.
