Development of an acoustic-fluidic actuator

The aim of my thesis is to use piezoelectric micro-machined ultrasound transducer (PMUT) to generate different kinds of surface acoustic wave (SAW). This generated surface acoustic wave will be used in micro-channel to generate various kinds of acoustic field and flow in order to realise life science applications. For example, manipulation and sorting of nano particles inside micro channel, droplet jetting and flow as well as liquid flow actuation between inlet and outlet inside a micro channel.
