Project

Life stories and community: exploring new horizons (OZRSAB12)

The proposal centres upon two research projects:
Research project 1 aims to develop an innovative perspective on life stories (from individual towards community life stories) and to integrate this in Community-Based Participatory Research. Based on a literature review and expert interviews, the objective is 1) to compare and contrast the theoretical frameworks, purpose, processes, and outcomes of (individual and community) life stories and Community-Based Participatory Research approaches, and 2) to formulate recommendations for how (individual and community) life stories can be incorporated into Community-Based Participatory Research.
Research project 2 aims to provide input for the structural development of our research group/center/institute. Based on (personal/academic) life story interviews with 10 inspirational leaders of high-performing research groups, the objective is 1) to examine the leadership qualities, management policies and tacit strategies of (different types of) high-performing research groups/centers/institutes, and 2) to translate this knowledge into a long-term policy plan for our research group/center/institute..
