VOICE ROLES. Performativity in Affective Economies. (R-12341)

VOICE ROLES is an artistic and theoretical research examining the prominent role of voice in our technology-driven society where communication reigns and dematerialization increasingly gains ground. VOICE ROLES explores different kinds of socio-professional interactions as well as digital services in the realm of emotionallabor. Oriented towards specific working practices involving orality as their primary tool, this research focuses on performativity in « transactional relationships » in order to explore the interconnections between artistic strategies and affective economies and voice technologies. VOICE ROLES proposes a conversational platform as well as a theoretical analysis at the crossroads between art, social science and performance studies. This research process will result in a series of conversational performance pieces exploring the dynamics operating within these multiple professional practices and technological apparatuses that our present generates and/or perpetuates.
