Effectiveness of first line interventions for the gifted in the Flemish (mental) heath care system. (R-7827)

Practical experience shows that children and adults may experience psychological and psychiatric complaints which are directly or indirectly related to being gifted. Yet, giftedness is still an unrecognized phenomenon in the Flemish (mental) health care system. The aim of this research project is to evaluate the efficacy of interventions for the gifted which have proven their success in practice. Effective interventions will be handed over to the health care sector with the intention to prevent the further development of psychological disorders related to giftedness.
