Motivation Barometer: A bridge between theory and practice during the COVID-19 crisis

From the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, it was clear that this would not be a mere sanitary crisis, but also a psychological-motivational one. After all, our main weapon in fighting viral spreading is our behavior. The COVID-19 crisis can therefore be seen as the greatest behavioral experiment ever, with major implications for our well-being. Sustainably motivating the population in these stressful circumstances and supporting their well-being was and remains not a matter of course. With the motivation barometer, in the first instance the population is given a voice within the corona crisis. In the second instance, we want to (a) feedback the findings to the population by presenting them in an accessible yet scientific way through various valorization products, (b) use them to assist policy makers and other stakeholders in developing evidence-based policies, and (c) extract important motivational and psychological lessons that are relevant in similar future crisis situations.
