Sustainable, circular and innovative food supply chains: business model development, economic, social and environmental impact assessment.

Food supply chains operate in a complex environment: consumer demands and structures are changing; new technologies are being developed and there is an increasing need to limit the pressure on the environment. Innovative, circular business models can help to generate a sustainable income for agricultural produces, while meeting (new) consumer demands and improving environmental benefits. This PhD research will focus on a set of innovative food and food waste processing techniques for which business models will be developed and for which the environmental, social, and economic impact will be assessed using LCA, LCC and social-LCA.
