Genetic basis of Varroa resistance associated social behavior. (GENOVARR2)

Objectives of the research are the identification of VR-relevant genes expressed in antennae, antennal lobes and mushroom bodies and of genomic variants associated with these VR-relevant genes, testing the distribution of these genomic variants in unrelated honey bee colonies; Specific objectives are the phenotyping of Apis mellifera carnica colonies for the presence of VR traits and the identification of genes relevant for Varroa resistance associated social behavior in Apis mellifera carnica.
