Barriers sex worker face in accessing prevention and treatment of HIV and other STIs within inner-city Johannesburg.

Various societal, legal and structural factors create barriers to sex worker access to health care, and compount their vulnerability to HIV and other STIs. This research will identify the main impediments to HIV/STI prevention, treatment and care in innercity Johannesburg, South Africa. Thereafter, throug sex worker participation, interventions will be designed and piloted to address barriers and underlying vulnerability.
