Evolution and preference formation

Intuitively, one would expect that only payoff-maximizing preferences are evolutionary stable. However, when preferences are completely or parially observed, this does not have to be the case. For my post-doctoral research I will try to expand the list of non-payoff maximizing preferences, that are rationalized by the indirect evolutionary approach with (i) habit formation and addiction and (ii) discriminatory behavior.
