Why do companies (not) report on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)?

The objective of this research is to investigate why companies do or do not report on corporate social responsibility (CSR). Companies are not enforced by law to inform the general public on CSR topics, such as actions taken to preserve the environment or programs established to improve the health and safety of employees.
