Non-rare earth luminescent materials for displays and lighting

The currently used luminescent materials for LEDs and diplays are based on the light emission of lanthanides. Due to their increasing cost and shortage, it is necessary to develop alternative materials,, especially for large light emitting surfaces. The project aims at investigating and developing such new materials. This is of fundamental importance, but also has a large economic potential.
