Effects of Helicobacter suis on the health and function of gastric acid-secreting parietal cells
The main goal of this project is to determine how Helicobacter suis inflicts damage to the stomach of infected animals and humans. We aim to identify the bacterial factors and pathophysiological mechanisms underlying parietal cell death and disruption of the gastric epithelial barrier function.
