Physical fitness as determinant of cardio-metabolic health in normal children and children with congenital heart disease

Evidence suggests that physical inactivity, obesity and acquired cardiovascular disease may be at least as prevalent in patients with congenital heart disease as in the general population. We aim to explore and determine physical fitness level and its influence on cardio-metabolic risk factors in normal children participated in IDEFICS study and compare the results with children operated for congenital heart disease.
