Project

Identification and functional investigation of novel key regulators of defence responses in rice

Plants protect themselves from stress using sophisticated plant defence strategies. This proposal will deliver novel insights into key regulators controlling plant defence in monocot plants, based on gene co-expression analyses, site-specific mutagenesis and detailed functional studies. We will work on one of the largest staple crops in the world: rice, feeding 50% of the human population on a daily basis.
