Attrition resistant Oxygen Carriers for Chemical Looping Reforming by Optimization of the Microstructure

Fe-based oxygen carriers are developed for the production of hydrogen/syngas by chemical looping processes. Spherical fluidisable particles are spray dried and heat-treated and their performance is investigated. By gaining insight in the relations between microstructure and morphology, and their mechanical and chemical performance, the synthesis procedure of the oxygen cariers can be modified to enhance their properties.
