Ontogenetic changes in feeding performance in dimorphic European eel (Anguilla anguilla): implications for artificial rearing and conservation.

The earliest stages of eel larvae are investigated in order to answer questions with regard to how, when and why broad- and narrowheaded (pre)adult eels occur in natural populations. Additionally, the effect of a possible difference in pollutant intake, due to this dimorphism, on the reproductive succes of adult eels is investigated as well.
