CATCH: Community Sport for AT-risk youth: innovative strategies for promoting development, health and social CoHesion (CATCH)

Specific groups of young people in our society are increasingly confronted with social exclusion in several (life) domains. Sports, community sports in particular, is regarded as a potentially rich context for difficult-to-reach young people at risk to achieve social exclusion. This sports-related context is regarded as a vehicle to promote personal development, healthy lifestyles and social cohesion. In spite of the large number and wide variety of neighborhood sport practices in Flanders, however, is lacking largely an "evidence-based '' frame, guiding principles and outcome measurement. Moreover, there is no overall policy vision in Flanders related to community sports.
