Transposable elements-mediated gene regulatory networks of brain diseases

In recent years, it has become clear that transposable elements are not just part of the ‘junk’ DNA, but exert several functions and are implicated in several human diseases. Through using multi-omics data and gene regulatory networks, we will elucidate the role of transposable elements in the brain diseases schizophrenia and glioblastoma multiforme, for which effective treatment is still lacking.
