Interregional mobility: interregional employment zones based on a supply and demand analysis

Despite the labor market tightness in Flanders and high unemployment and inactivity rates in Brussels and Wallonia, the number of Walloons and Brussels residents employed in Flanders remains low. Moreover, there is little research into interregional labor mobility in Belgium. In order to promote interregional labor mobility, a broader framework must be developed in which the potential of cross-border employment zones is explicitly considered.
