Organisation profile:

Research in the unit Greek Studies is not limited to antiquity but focuses on the study of Greek language and the analysis and edition of Greek literary texts through the centuries. Key research domains are the historiography of linguistics, literary and paraliterary papyri, Byzantine and Early Christian studies and comparative Indo-European linguistics. Some research activities guarantee the continuity of these domains, for example the study of the relation between ancient literary papyri and the Byzantine manuscript tradition, the study and edition of grammatical papyri and finally the research on the history of grammatical and linguistic theory from ancient to modern Greek. The research unit is also responsible for organizing the teaching of Greek within the faculty of Arts ("Languages and Literatures" or "Ancient History") as well as in the faculty of Philosophy. Among the most striking concrete realizations of our research team are The Series Graeca of the Corpus Christianorum, ((URL:http://www.arts.kul euven.be/byzantium) www.arts.kuleuven.be/byzantium) The digital papyrus collection: Catalogue of Paraliterary Papyri (cpp.ar ts.kuleuven.be) The annotated on line  bibliography on the mythographer Apollodorus (abel.arts.kuleuven.be) The portal site Greek Grammar on the Web (greekgrammar.com) " Homepage research team Greek Studies.
