Organisation profile:

The School of Transportation Sciences is an administrative entity, similar to a faculty. Within this entity research and education activities are bundled by the Transportation Research Institute (IMOB) that aims to deliver sustainable solutions for mobility challenges in the domains of transportation, road safety, behavior, road design, tourism and autonomy.

With respect to education IMOB coordinates a bachelor and (international) master program in Transportation Sciences. The program trains mobility experts to approach the complex problems of Transportation Sciences in a multidisciplinary way. IMOB also organizes several other training initiatives such as a ''road safety auditor training'' and a road safety training for scholars from developing countries. There is also an extensive experience in organizing international summer schools and conferences.

With respect to research IMOB is active in basic and applied research and has extensive experience with coordination of large scale projects on the national and international level. We use modern investigative techniques such as eye tracking, driving simulators, state-of-the-art transport models, etc. The resulting knowledge and skills are also deployed in numerous service contracts. Over the years we have built up significant knowledge and expertise. Our research has already led to dozens of innovative mobility solutions. Because many solutions can have a big added value for society, IMOB strongly invests in the further development of these technologies into market-ready products.
